From Portland, Back Home

“This just kind of fell in our laps — after a lot of prayer.”

My husband and I went out to Portland, Oregon eight years ago to help start a church. When that fell apart, we got connected with Fresh Life Church — they were starting a new campus out there at the time — and my husband and I took over as the campus pastors. We served there for about five years.

We moved back because we have two adult children here. When our daughter was looking for a Christian school for her oldest — our oldest granddaughter — she found the school online and mentioned it to me. I was looking for a part-time job at the time, and this just kind of fell in our laps after a lot of prayer.

We asked whether it would be reaching to call that an act of providence. “No, you would not be reaching. That is absolutely true.”

Why She’s Invested

Four grandchildren, enrolled right here.

I have a vested interest in this school, because I have four grandchildren that will be attending here. I have my degree in early childhood education, and I homeschooled our five children up to adulthood — so I understand the importance of an education and, more importantly, the importance of a Christian foundation in education.

“We might be small and new, but we are on fire for God — and we are on fire for teaching the next generation to be servant leaders.”

We are a small team that is dedicated to giving children individualized attention in the areas of study they need most.

Pastored on one coast, homeschooled five, and came home for the grandkids — an act of providence, and she’d tell you so.
