We were very young when we came here. I guess it was the friendliness and the love of the people — it just made you feel at home. At that time there were several young adults, and they had a really good young adult class. That’s what really brought us. We were kind of just taken in with the people — and we’ve been here 47 years.
I teach Sunday school — junior high, mostly, and some younger ones too. I was an Awana leader, commander, and director at different times for well over 20 years. I like working with kids. And I’m in a few of the women’s groups.
I have two daughters — both raised here in this church, and both married here. Their babies grew up here too. One sings and leads worship; the other has Bible studies in her home. It was later that they left, for jobs — and they’re both involved in their own churches now, holding roles there. We’re very proud that they have followed in our footsteps as far as our beliefs.
